What is a ketogenic diet?
A ketogenic diet is a dietary pattern that is high in fat, moderate in protein, and low in carbohydrates. It involves drastically reducing your carbohydrate intake and consuming fat instead. The body uses energy in two ways: carbohydrates and fats. If you don't provide your body with carbohydrates, it will start using fats as energy. These energy molecules are called ketones . This type of diet is called a ketogenic diet .
The ketogenic diet is effective and simple. It can also help you lose weight by increasing your energy and mental clarity levels. While many people want to try the ketogenic diet because of its rapid weight loss properties, my preference and commitment to it stems from the fact that carbohydrates don't agree with my body. I've really enjoyed living without carbohydrates. I hope you also decide what works best for you during this process and make progress.
Can people following vegan and vegetarian diets adapt to keto?
I've observed that many people on vegan and vegetarian diets come from a high carbohydrate intake: bread, pasta, legumes, soy products, and processed foods. Of course, there are also those who follow a plant-based diet, but this is the general result.
I proceeded very carefully when preparing my ketogenic, vegan, and vegetarian diet plan. My goal was to use natural, packaged, and as healthy ingredients as possible.
Incorrectly implemented vegan and vegetarian diets can lead to nutrient deficiencies and trigger inflammation.
Carbohydrates and Inflammation: Many vegans and vegetarians may experience nutritional deficiencies because they try to satisfy their hunger with carbohydrates. Today, there are many unnatural processed foods on the market, which can make your diet unhealthy. In this dietary plan, I have prioritized natural methods as much as possible. If you are vegetarian or vegan and fill your plates with grains, you may have deficiencies in your diet.
Gluten Sensitivity: Many people today suffer from gluten sensitivity. While many people only think of celiac disease when gluten sensitivity is mentioned, it can be an extreme form of the condition. How can you recognize gluten sensitivity? Abdominal bloating, ulcers, intestinal pain, and digestive problems can be symptoms of gluten sensitivity. Additionally, symptoms such as "brain fog," depression, anxiety, and fatigue may occur. Our bodies don't react to grains in just one way; they can respond in many different ways.
